On the Statewide Program for Adapting Ukraines Legislation to European Union Legislation 18.03.2004 1629-IV Brings Ukraines legal system in line with the acquis communautaire based on criteria presented by the European Union (EU) to countries that intend to join the Union. One of the priority spheres in which the adaptation of Ukrainian legislation has begun is regulations and standards.
On verifying compliance 17.05.2001 2406-III I Establishes the legal and organizational basis for verifying the compliance of products, quality systems, quality control systems, environmental control systems, and personnel and establishes a single state technical policy regarding the verification of compliance.
On the accreditation of agencies responsible for verifying compliance 17.05.2001 2407-III - Ensures a single regulatory policy in verifying compliance;
- Fosters consumer trust in compliance verification activity;
- Establishes conditions for mutual recognition of the results of accredited bodies at the international level;
- Removes technical barriers to trade.
On standardization 17.05.2001 2408-III Ensures a single regulatory policy in standardization and establishing its legal and organizational principles. In Ukraine, the purpose of standardization is ensuring the rational use of natural resources, verifying the compliance of standardized objects with their functional purpose, informing consumers about the quality of goods, processes and services, and supporting the development and global competitiveness of goods and of trade in goods and services.

On state oversight of compliance with standards, norms and rules and liability for violations Cabinet Decree 30-93 dated 08.04.93 Establishes the legal basis for state oversight of compliance with standards, norms and rules by those engaged in commercial activities (enterprises) and determining their liability for violating such standards, norms and rules.
On standardization and certification Cabinet Decree 46-93 dated 10.05.93 Establishes the legal and economic basis for the systems of standardization and certification and establishes the functional organization of their activities on the territory of Ukraine.
On measures to improve regulatory and consumer policy activity Presidential Decree 1105/2005 dated 13.07.2005 - Improves regulation and the enactment of consumer policy in line with the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the European Union (EU);
- Removes technical barriers to trade.
On the Program to Integrate Ukraine into the European Union Presidential Decree dated 14.09.2000 1072/2000 Primary purpose: To be the main instrument for a general strategy on bringing Ukraine closer to the EU across the entire spectrum of cooperation: political, social, financial, economic, trade, scientific, educational, cultural and so on. Other programs and plans of a political and socio-economic nature that are developed or are supposed to be developed by central executive bodies should be based on the goals in this Program.

State Standardization Program for 2006-2010 Cabinet Resolution 229 dated 01.03.2006 Ensures the development of a national standardization system, its compliance with the requirements of the Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade, and its harmonization with the European Unions standardization system.
EU-Ukraine Action Plan Cabinet Instruction 36- dated 12.02.2005 Establishes a solid foundation for further economic integration, including through joint efforts to set up an EU-Ukraine Free Trade Area after Ukraine accedes to the WTO, based on the approval and implementation of trade and commerce norms and rules to foster greater trade, investment and growth.
Fosters the development and implementation of strategies and measures directed at supporting economic growth and social equivalence, a higher standard of living and environmental protection, which all support the achievement of the goals of long-term sustainable growth.
Establishes a comprehensive list of priorities both within and outside the context of the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement.
